LFP is asking Canadians to pledge to shift $10 a week to Certified Local Sustainable food to support fare that’s fair, healthier communities and good food for tomorrow.

Why $10?

If just 10,000 households shift $10 of their weekly food budget from imported conventional, to Certified Local Sustainable products, the result would be annual reductions in greenhouse gas emissions equivalent to taking approximately 100 cars off the road.

Additionally, it will generate more than $5 million dollars per year in sales of local sustainable food, likely stimulating at least 100 new jobs.

So just like that, by shifting just $10 a week of your food budget, you’re not only voting with your dollars for the type of food system you support, but you can also make meaningful and lasting food system change.
